Hospice offers medical care for individuals with a life expectancy of 6 months or less, focusing on symptom relief and quality of life when a cure is not feasible. Lifespan predictions are uncertain, and many outlive their initial prognosis.
 
Hospice, a Medicare benefit, is also covered by most private insurance and Medicaid in nearly all states. It provides a multidisciplinary team for physical, emotional, and spiritual support, emphasizing care coordination, goal clarification, and communication.
 
Hospice care, delivered primarily in the patient’s residence, allows them to be surrounded by personal memories and family. It includes regular visits and 24/7 availability for emergencies.
 
Unique to hospice, bereavement care supports families during the illness and for over a year post-death.

Balboa Senior Living is a private pay facility, but various state and federal programs offer financial aid for senior living expenses. Veterans and their spouses might qualify for “Aid and Attendance” for assisted living costs. Some long-term insurance policies may cover assisted living expenses. While Medicare doesn’t cover assisted living, it does fund home health agency services for residents, including various therapies and diabetes management. Medicaid is a key program for those unable to afford long-term care.

We offer training and support for technology use, including free WiFi and assistance with devices like iPhones and iPads, keeping your loved ones connected.

Our staff prepares home-cooked meals, focusing on taste and nutrition, and recognizing the importance of a wholesome diet for well-being.
We assist with hair and makeup, understanding the positive impact of looking and feeling good, from hair brushing to makeup and nail care.
